Episode – Navigating Product Adoption Pitfalls with Ted Newill

There are numerous pitfalls that MedTech companies experience when launching a new product. This is especially true with new concept products. Patrick Kothe, host of the podcast Mastering Medical Device interviewed me to talk about these challenges. Pat is also CEO, EM Device Lab, and is in the middle of a product launch. Here are the show notes from this episode of Mastering Medical Device…
“Ted Newill is an expert in medical device sales and marketing. In this episode we examine why some technologies are adopted while others are not – even if there is clinical proof that they should be. We explore issues impacting long-term adoption in the pre-product release, product release, and post-release phases along with how people react to change. We discuss a number of issues that can make or break the success of a product, including product life cycle, regulatory and clinical strategy, buyer types, physician education, pricing and reimbursement. We also offer tips on what should be done to increase a product’s probability of success.”
I highly recommend Pat’s podcasts. I learn something new every time I listen to Mastering Medical Device. They address important areas of the medical device world that my podcasts don’t always investigate. Pat and I both agreed that product adoption pitfalls was something we were both interested in discussing. The result was this collaboration. Needless to say, we had a good time putting this together.
